Background
Describe the scenarios in which you currently seek out and watch trailers.
- When she has heard about and are interested
- She would use YouTube
- If it is on Netflix she would watch on there
- That is the only streaming service that she would do that for
Where do you currently watch trailers?
- Youtube
- She would research on Flixter
- She would probably not watch the trailer on YouTube
- Flixter app is actually difficult to watch the trailers on
- It is kind of buried in a details page that is difficult to navigate to
What do you do when you have planned to go see a movie, but you are not sure of which one?
How do you research movies?
- She would go to the theater website to see what they have playing or she would go to rotten tomatoes or IMDB
What websites would you use?
What theaters would you want to go to?
- These days she really likes ones where there are recliners; that is probably the most important factor to her now
Would you use the theater’s website?
Have you gone to a high-end or trendy theater? Describe the experience of planning that trip.

Nitehawk
Desktop:
From the homepage either navigate to “the Batman” or “the Lost City” and start the trailer.
How did that process feel?
- She said that there is a lot going on on the page
- She likes the side bar of options the most though
- Looks arty to her and she appreciates it, but there is too much going on
- She noticed the date thing after the fact
- She said that the pictures draw all the attention
- “It is not laid out in a way that is super intuitive to me”
- The text over the pictures is confusing
- She thinks it would be more intuitive if it was under the pictures
- She liked the more traditional view that was in the coming soon section was better
- “I like this more because it is faster for me to understand it”
- Watch trailer is right underneath it and it was straightforward and easy.
- After probing she did go to the details page for an individual movie
- But because the trailer button was there she didn’t get to this screen
What would you want to change about that process (if anything)?
- she would put the text underneath
- She would make the movies more separated to make it more clear which information belongs to what movie
- The show times are so close together that it looks like all one collection of show times
What did you think about the way the trailer was displayed on the screen?
- Thought it was good
- “I guess it could be nice if you could move the trailer around and still scroll around on the rest of the website”
- Be able to scroll and review things while the video is playing
- “That’s nitpicky”
Would you rather have looked up the trailer on a separate website?
- ”It just pulled up YouTube in the website, so no that doesn’t matter”
Mobile:
From the homepage either navigate to “the Batman” or “the Lost City” and start the trailer.
- Didn’t put the video into full screen
How did that process feel compared to the desktop site?
- This one felt better
- Since it is single column layout the images with the text on them made more sense
- If you need more information on the movie you click on it and see a traditional layout
What would you want to change about that process (if anything)?
- “Nothing really comes to mind”
What did you think about the way the trailer was displayed on the screen?
- ”it felt normal”
- Nothing jarring about it
- It was small, but she said that she could make it bigger
- She would do full screen and then turn her phone
- Would be fine and normal to do this process
Would you rather have looked up the trailer on a separate website vs. the mobile version?

What would you want to change about that process (if anything)?
What did you think about the way the trailer was displayed on the screen?
- When you click it it plays bigger
- Then noticed that the window is bigger but the video was actually the same size
- “Kind of an eyesore on the page”
Would you rather have looked up the trailer on a separate website?
She would probably end up looking up the movie on Flixter
